Every April, Milan becomes the beating heart of the design world—and in 2025, Salone del Mobile proved once again why it’s the global stage for the world of furniture and design. Modernbrands had the immense pleasure of returning to this iconic fair, immersed in a week of artistry, architectural beauty, and forward-thinking design.

This year’s 63rd edition of Salone was all about “Thought for Humans” an edition that will explore the deep-rooted connections between humanity and design, light and matter, featuring a diverse narrative capable of consolidating the event’s primacy as a cultural and creative platform. and our team was there to witness it all.

Highlights from the Halls and Streets of Milan
From various installations to intimate studio presentations, here are some of the standout moments that captured our attention:

Frigerio
A true masterclass in craftsmanship, Frigerio’s 2025 collection MaterialForm redefined what it means to live with elegance. Their use of matter, form, and perception in redefining each sofa, chair, and statement furniture piece with a different eye and use of history as its stage, offered a refined palette that felt both timeless and daring.

Bonaldo
Bonaldo enters a new concept this year, their Contemporary Soul 25 collection. A home that is a system where architecture and personality collide and constant transformation is welcome. Which gives a space the subtle essence of life and identity, that each piece—be it a table, sofa, or lighting element—is not only a functional asset but an expression of personality that interprets the memory, design, and creativity. This highlights the innate soul of human nature by its projection towards their spaces.

Molteni & C
This year Molteni&C opened its own showroom in a historical palazzo, like stepping into a modern Italian palazzo. Designed by Vincent Van Duysen, their presentation was anchored in architectural purity and sartorial detail—especially their Gliss Master Blend wardrobe. It’s a continuation of the design language we bring to our own Molteni&C showroom in Manila.

Emerging Themes We Loved
This year, several ideas emerged across multiple brands—proof that the design world is moving forward in unison. Some of our favorite takeaways:
- Trend 1: Travertine Finishes – We saw how they highlighted the integral parts of finishes, the natural veins that give these finishes the raw aspect of materials which can be raw and beautiful.
- Trend 2: Nature-Infused Materials –Zen vibe of materials to different pattern weaves, applied across furniture pieces like tables, chairs, and cabinetry, which highlights the dynamic approach of human nature.
- Trend 3: Design for people – Design that highlights the organic shapes of nature where it can be a statement piece that integrates the natural course of nature with its design, adapting how humans can transform with the times.
